Adopting Abby

My wife, Nicki, holding Abby at the final
adoption hearing with our lawyer and the judge.

Let me see, what’s new in my life? Hmm…

Oh, yeah! After nearly two years of fostering a beautiful baby girl, we officially adopted our daughter, Abby! She’s a hilarious bundle of energy that makes us laugh every day with her clever antics. She never stops moving, and she always seems to work hard to find new ways to crack us up.

Sure, all children can be cute, and every parent thinks their child is the cutest. But she has the most beautiful eyes, the most adorable smile. And she learns quickly by mimicking everything we do, so she really does seem to be figuring out how to make us laugh.

All of which is fitting, because after my wife, Nicki, chose the name “Abigail”, she learned that it means “source of joy”. And that’s exactly what our little girl is!
